DPF, EGR & AdBlue Repair Birmingham
Warning lights on the DPF, EGR valve or AdBlue system point to real faults such as clogged filters, sticking valves, bad sensors or a failed NOx or dosing component. We diagnose and repair these properly and keep the system working to its legal specification.
When you need this
- DPF light or limp mode
- EGR valve fault codes
- AdBlue warning or countdown
How it works
- Send make, model, year and engine size.
- We read the ECU and run a health check first.
- Original file is saved, then the new calibration is written.
- Road test and a copy of your original file for your records.
In detail
Emissions faults have real causes, and the fix depends on which one you have. A DPF (diesel particulate filter) clogged from short journeys may respond to a forced regeneration; an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve may be sticking with carbon; an AdBlue fault may be a failed NOx sensor or dosing injector. We read the codes, check live data and test components before replacing anything. What we will not do is delete or bypass any of it: removing emissions equipment is illegal for UK road vehicles.
Questions about dpf, egr & adblue fault repair
Can you delete my DPF in Birmingham?
No. Removing a DPF, EGR valve or AdBlue system is illegal for UK road vehicles — it will fail an MOT and can lead to fines. We diagnose the actual fault and repair it properly, keeping the system working to its legal specification.
My DPF warning light is on — what should I do?
Don't ignore it. A DPF light usually means the filter is clogging, often from short journeys. Keep driving gently and call us — we read the codes and check whether it needs a forced regeneration, a clean or a sensor repair. You get a fixed quote before we travel.
What is limp mode?
Limp mode is your car's self-protection: when the ECU spots a serious fault, it cuts power so you can limp home or to safety without causing more damage. It is a symptom, not the fault itself — we read the codes and fix the underlying cause.
My AdBlue countdown says the car won't start — can you fix it?
Yes, in most cases. An AdBlue countdown is usually a failed NOx sensor, a dosing injector or crystallised fluid — not an empty tank. We diagnose the system, repair the faulty part and reset the countdown properly.
Can a blocked DPF be cleaned instead of replaced?
Often, yes. If the filter itself is intact, a forced regeneration or professional clean can restore it, and many faults turn out to be sensors rather than the filter. We test first and only replace what is proven faulty.
Will an emissions fault affect my MOT?
Yes. Any emissions warning light is an MOT failure, and a removed or tampered DPF fails automatically. Getting the fault properly repaired before the test is cheaper than a failure and retest — and it keeps the car legal.
